About Us
A festival that springs to life in the heart of Steinbach on the third weekend of June, Summer in the City showcases all the heritage, culture, entertainment, and food of Southeastern Manitoba.
Summer in the City is a community gathering space with something for everyone! With NO admission fee, LOTS of free attractions (including kid’s area), and designated accessible parking spaces, everyone’s welcome at the biggest celebration in the Southeast. We can’t wait to see you having a ton of fun and interacting with your community out on Main Street!

Can you bring in outside food?
Yes for sure! (But you might not want to, as you’ll be surrounded by your fellow festivalgoers enjoying fresh fun foods of all kinds and jealousy may set in…)
What’s the security situation?
RCMP will be patrolling the festival, and at night a security company will be keeping watch.
Where can I park?
Side streets, but please do not block driveways! Accessible parking is available at the corner of Friesen and Elmdale.
What’s all free?
Admission is completely free! Just walk or wheel on in. Kids in the City, Seniors in the City, Street Arts in the City, and Artists in the City are all free, and on Friday and Saturday afternoon Mainstage entertainment is free too.
Facilities?
On Main Street behind Mainstage bleachers you’ll find a row of porta-potties and handwash stations, and more at either end of Main Street as well.
What’s open on Sunday/Father’s Day?
Sunday morning Worship in the City kicks off at 10:30 at the Mainstage. Midway opens at noon and to celebrate Father’s Day, dads ride free with the purchase of a wristband for your child! Many vendors open at 11am.
What time is the midway open?
The midway is open Friday 4-midnight, Saturday noon-midnight, and Sunday noon-5!
Is there accessible parking?
Yes, at the corner of Friesen and Elmdale.

Bring water, wear sunscreen, and get ready for some fun! In addition to the Mainstage compound and food trucks, you can buy bottled water at the info booth and senior’s tent for $1/bottle.
